The site must meet the following criteria:
- The site must have dedicated off-street parking for the business or its employees or customers.
- The business must have an operational need for EV charging infrastructure, such as a fleet of electric vehicles, or employees who drive electric vehicles.
- The site must not have existing EV charging infrastructure, or the proposed installation must be in addition to the existing infrastructure.
- The proposed installation must comply with all relevant regulations and requirements, including electrical safety standards.
- The installation must be carried out by an OZEV-approved installer, and the installer must provide a warranty for the charging points.
- The business must have the necessary permissions to carry out the installation, including planning permission and any necessary landlord or tenant consent.
By ensuring that sites meet these eligibility criteria, the WCS aims to ensure that the grant funding is used effectively to promote the adoption of EV charging infrastructure and reduce carbon emissions in the UK.
